Las personas estamos hechas de historia.
Parte de mi historia es textil. Está en estrecha relación con lo doméstico, lo cotidiano y lo femenino. También está ligada a la memoria colectiva, donde me salgo de mi misma para integrar una comunidad y me adentro en la trama social.
En un principio, en la búsqueda de las formas, los colores, el valor de la estética; tuve la necesidad de hacerme preguntas sobre el origen, el lugar donde habito, mi cultura y mis propias tradiciones.
Bucear en las distintas comunidades, develar secretos, practicar lo cotidiano, ver los rostros enmascarados, realizar ciertos rituales, habilitar los encuentros de mujeres. Todo ello convive con paisajes apacibles que guardan historias no contadas, casi místicas. Desde mi inocencia hasta el darme cuenta, posibilitando la transmutación, haciendo visible lo invisible, permitiéndome nuevas lecturas e interpretaciones.
Mi obra habla de la mujer, la naturaleza, una vuelta a los orígenes, desde una mirada antropológica, rescatando ritos y situaciones que se han perdido con el correr del tiempo. Posibilita transportarme a un lugar amable, deseando estar allí. Pero también con una mirada crítica sobre la deshumanización y el desinterés por el medio ambiente. Recuperando, aunque sea en esos deseos, los aspectos positivos de la historia y una revaloración de nuestra madre tierra.
We are made of history.
Part of mine is textile. Closely related to the domestic, daily and feminine fields. It’s also connected to collective memory, when I leave individualism to become part of a community and enter the social weave.
Originally, searching forms, colors and an aesthetic value; I felt the need to question my origin, the place where I live, my culture and my own traditions.
Immersing myself in several communities, unveiling secrets, practicing everyday occurences, watching the masked faces, performing certain rituals, facilitating female meetings. All these living together with calm landscapes saving untold tales, almost mystical. From my innocence till realizing, enabling transmutation, making visible the invisible, allowing new readings and interpretations.
My work talks about female, nature, a return to the origins, from an anthropological vision, recovering rites and situations which have been lost with time. It enables transferring myself to a nicer place, looking forward to being there. As well as a critical view about dehumanization and indifference towards our environment. Restoring, at least in my wishes, the possitive aspects of the history and a reappraisal of our mother nature.
